In November, we had the pleasure to host german GOLFPUNK journalists Rudi Schaarschmidt and Frank Reichert to showcase the unique conditions that Porto & Northern Portugal has to offer to all golf enthusiasts.

During these days, they had to chance to visit the finest golf landmarks of the region, such as Estela Golfe, built over 3 kilometres of beautiful dunes on the Minho coast line and providing breathtaking views over the Atlantic, the Axis Golf Ponte de Lima Hotel and respective Golfe Ponte de Lima, located over the skirts of Madalena Hill, covering an impressive total of six kilometres adorned with luxurious vegetation and well restored, historical mansions, which supply support infrastructure for golfing activity.

Vidago Palace Golf Course, recently rebuilt according to the United States Golf Association (USGA) for tees and greens, a Par 72 course which keeps the identity of the original design of Mackenzie Ross and faithfully reflecting the beauty the unique qualities for this sport, as well as the spirit and distinctive sign of this scenario - the Vidago Palace. The last stop was at Espinho's Oporto Golf Course, founded in 1890 by English living at the Porto, making it the oldest Golf Club at the Iberian Peninsula and one of the oldest in continental Europe.

This press trip could not end up without visiting Porto and the Porto Wine Cellars, with a dinner at Vinum, where the finest regional delicacies and Porto Wine had been tasted.
